Platelet Rich Fibrin

Platelet Rich Fibrin

PRF (platelet rich fibrin) is a cutting edge cosmetic injectable treatment for naturally rejuvenating the skin & repairing the signs of aging.  PRF is the next generation of PRP (platelet rich plasma) & contains about 10 times more platelet concentration than normal blood, therefore having great healing & regenerative properties.  Platelets, leukocytes, mesenchymal stem cells & growth factors in PRF stimulate collagen & elastin production resulting in tighter, smoother skin. Because it boosts collagen, PRF is a great treatment for improving skin texture & tone (especially for people with acne & rosacea).  PRF is very effective for difficult-to-treat areas such as the under eye area.  It can also be used to reverse hair loss, reduce the appearance of stretch marks, enhance breast volume, improve lip color & hydration as well as overall facial rejuvenation.

The advantages of this treatment include:

  • 100% autologous material without additives such as anticoagulants or bovine thrombin gel
  • Absence of blood manipulation results in a more significant number of live cells
  • Growth factors are released for several days (not hours) after treatment
  • PRF contains more healing factors & stems cells (compared to PRP) &, when injected, results in less trauma to the tissues

7 Days Before Your Treatment:

  • Avoid chemical peels, waxing, electrolysis, laser treatments, or threading
  • Discontinue blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A, Ginkgo, garlic, flax, cod liver oil, essential fatty acids, and multivitamins, a minimum of 14 days prior to treatment. You may continue iron and vitamin D.

  • Avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti-inflammatory medications if approved by your primary care provider. We want inflammation to occur – as this is one mechanism by which PRF works. You may use Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed prior to the treatment.

  • Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure.
